.exhausted.

Ooohhh, my little possum! I have a feeling teeth are about to make an appearance through this little ones gums - she is almost 9 months after all and still has none so they are bound to come very soon. Oscar didn't get any teeth until he was almost one, and it seems Lil is following in his footsteps.

We have had some up and down days with Lil lately, she has mostly been her happy little self, but has had a killer dose of nappy rash which we can't seem to get rid of and has been causing her a bit of pain. We've tried creams, powders, different liners, cloth, disposable, and its just not going away. It seems that it has completely cleared up and then the next day she will have it bad again.

Today she has had a temperature and been a bit grizzly. This is the second time she had fallen asleep on the lounge room floor! It is 5:30pm, I want to wake her so that she doesn't stay up too late, but I can't bring myself to do it as she looks so adorable!

Lets hope those teeth come through soon so she can get back to her happy little self again.

(Or it could be something totally unrelated to teeth, but as mothers we love blaming everything on them, don't we?! Its like as long as we can blame something then it doesn't seem so bad!)

  2. Poor Lil. It does sound like teeth, but as you said, you never really know until the tooth comes through and things improve. I am hoping the rash isn't from the cloth nappies as I still want to give them a go.

  3. Just thinking Tone about a good cream we discovered called 'Nappy Mate'. The hospital put us onto it once when we were in. It is hard to find, but a chemist here once ordered it in for me. It is really thick and brownish and coats the bum but clears things up really quick, plus prevents more rash coming.

  4. Oh nappy rash is cruel isn't it Toni. Of all the things on the market I found plain old corn flour works the best! No doubt you've probably already given it a go! Poor little Lil.

  5. Ahh the old teething stage. Nappy rash seems to go hand in hand with teething. Did the nappy rash start way before the teething? Hmm it seems only time gets you through these bits.

  6. Poor little Lil. Her rash could be food related? Seriously, if she is slightly allergic to something it can often appear as a nappy rash. I hope she gets back to her normal self real soon. xx

  7. Ohhhh... it breaks your heart to have to wake them huh! Sounds alot like teeth coming to me - Leilani and Emily were both late teeth getters too! And they both had the bad nappy rash and high fevers. But its hard to know huh! Anyway... I'm glad you took the sleeping baby photo - they always make me smile, and Lil is such a cutie!

  10. Hi Toni,
All of those symptoms sound like Hinckley when she was teething, right down to the "jack in the box nappy rash". We didn't even know belle was teething she would just pop teeth thru and be her smiley old self. Lil is gorgeous!
