BBQ PIZZA
Roll out pizza dough to dinner plate size (I like to use my breadmaker to make pizza dough - this is a great recipe too)
Oil BBQ grill and set heat to medium/high.
Place pizza dough on grill, close hood and leave for 5 minutes.

When base is browned on the bottom and puffy, remove from BBQ and add pizza toppings to grilled side of dough.
Return pizza to BBQ, this time with un-grilled side facing the BBQ grill.

Cook for another 5-7 minutes or until base is grilled and toppings are melted and hot.
If you are using toppings that need cooking time (e.g. raw chicken) it is a good idea to cook chicken before putting on the pizza. Because cooking time is fast for these BBQ pizzas, the chicken won't cook through.

YUMMO that looks so delicious :-) Just joined you! Lovely blog.
ReplyDeleteThey look great. We have a pizza oven in our garden but you have to light it hours ahead so I may have to take the bbq route sometimes.
ReplyDeleteMade an Uptown Girl for my daughter recently and it's great. Very well written pattern. Will stick a photo on my blog soon.
What a fantastic idea! I can't believe I've never thought to do pizza on the barbie. I'm pretty proud of my pizza making skills, I have to say, and am dead keen to give this new approach a go. Thanks for sharing.
