Saturday 29th August 2009.
Rain, rain and more rain.
Stuck inside.
1 milk bottle = 2 boats made with stickers, blu tack, skewers, paper and help from Dad.
Hats, jackets and boots on.
Take boats outside and float down the gutter over and over again.
Get very wet.
Had fun.

Im done with the rain!!! When I got out of the car the other day a piece of paper dropped into the gutter and off it went like a boat. Hattie and I just watched it.....
Its raining here too (NZ) but it is a great excuse to sew - I am just finishing off my Uptown Girl jacket and it is looking SO cute! I chose the same fabric as the picture and have fallen in LOVE with the Apple fabric.... I am going to blog about it when I have finished.. Thanks for being so clever and having cool patterns! Angie
I love seeing children playing in the rain!! I can't remember letting my kids do so when they were little, but when they were older they did. On the mid north coast of NSW (where my children grew up) they learnt to swim at an early age so they were forever wet wet wet. I still didn't let them swim on their own until they were in High School. In Tassie though you wouldn't get as much hot weather. We were always at the beach (they wouldn't fight that way) and I could have some peace and quiet!!! I always say, as long as the kids are well, some water won't hurt them.
You know we are a mob of ehingers...when it is hot in a couple of months we wont be happy about that either....we are always wanting it to be something other than what it is.... i found this quote a long time ago.... i think it was by Helen Keller the blind woman..."If you are forever looking towards tomorrow ...you never enjoy today..(added Nettie bit here)...and "you never enjoy the moments"...how true is that ans seeing as i dont have many tomorrows left i am going to enjoy them all...
Tommy is a darling..that smile is a melter....
