Welcome back!!! The first pattern I'd like to introduce you to is PLAYTIME SKORT...
Playtime Skort puts the fun back into funky! Active little girls can play as they please while wearing their Playtime Skort, providing modesty in the playground.
Made from super comfy stretch fabric and with dainty bubble skirt detail, it is simple to pull on in the morning and have fun playing all day. Whether hanging upside down on the monkey bars or heading off to a birthday party, Playtime Skort will cover all bases.
This pattern provides options to make a pair of shorts, a cute bubble skirt, a comfortable single-layer skirt or a skort from one easy pattern as well as instructions to create a matching reverse-applique shirt for a complete outfit!
About a month ago, I was contacted by Angela from Sew Bright Alpine Quilting asking me if I would consider creating a pattern using some of the new stretch (knit) fabrics that are around. After hearing feedback from a few of my customers, saying that they would love to see more stretch sewing patterns, of course I couldn't say no!After a bit of discussion with a few friends, I decided upon this skort pattern for little girls. I don't know about other Mum's out there, but I am totally sick of seeing Lil's undies every time she wears a dress or skirt - which is just about every day! A skort is the perfect way to solve this problem, she can wriggle around and lift up her skirt as much as she likes without giving the whole world a view of her underwear! She thinks it is the funniest thing and calls it her "magic skirt" :)
And just incase you don't want to make a bubble-skirt, there are options to make a skort with a VERY simple single-layer skirt. Or you can forget about the skort altogether and the make skirts on their own or a pair of little shorts that look super cute with a longer t-shirt.
For a lovely selection of stretch fabrics, contact Angela at Sew Bright - they are great to work with!
A big thankyou to the brilliant Fiona Harding for these super cute photos of Lil - I just love them!!
