.for the love of trains.

When the stake Young Men and Young Women had a service project at the Don River Railway yesterday I just had to take Oscar along.
The youth scrubbed levers until they shined and sanded carriages that were being restored. They were going to be doing some train painting but because of the rainy weather, that bit was canceled. Oscar was in his element wandering around real life-sized trains for a few hours, telling us their names and stories.
And if this isn't evidence enough of his love for trains...
...falling asleep underneath the big, heavy Complete Collection of Thomas the Tank Engine with a couple of little trains tucked gently beside him!
He LOVES this book, it is huge and has lots of writing and tiny little faded pictures, but he takes it to bed every night and tells himself train stories and reads it for hours each day.

He is just adorable- classic photos of him asleep under that massive book. He would have loved the Don River Railway- totally in his element!

That is just the coolest photo of the kids polishing - I love it. AND Oscar of course who may be suffering brain damage from having a book that heavy on his head.
